The Chairman met with Jenny Daly, Manager of The Lodge annexed to Torbay Hospital on 27th September The Lodge Cancer Support and Information Service provides advice, guidance and direct support to the population of Torbay, Teignbridge and South Hams a total of approximately 344,000 as well as the cancer population of the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust which has approximately 619 new cancer diagnoses for every 100,000 people per annum*. The Lodge is a well-established service providing psychological, complementary and talking therapies as well as information, advice and practical support to people affected by cancer living in that area. Annually the service supports over 5500 direct contacts by patient, carer or healthcare professional (drop in, appointments, phone calls). The centre is operational 5 days a week 9.00 am – 4.00 pm; however, it is only open on Monday and Tuesday for booked appointments and Wednesday to Friday for drop in and booked appointments. The Lodge welcomes anyone affected by cancer that needs help and offers friendly, confidential and quiet surroundings. Some dedicated parking spaces available.
