Russ & Josh Take On Prostate United
Two members of Torquay United’s backroom staff will be spending October taking on the Prostate United 2023 challenge, to raise awareness of prostate cancer, and fundraise for Prostate Cancer UK.
Having been part of the TUAFC team that took part in the challenge two years ago, United’s popular Kit Manager / Sports Therapist Russell Cleave has this time partnered up with Sports Therapist Intern Josh Chubb to do it all again this year, for the same worthy cause.
Every day throughout the course of October, United’s dynamic duo will be either running 10km or cycling 25km in order to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK, whilst at the same time, raising vital awareness of the disease itself.
“A group of us did it before, so me and Josh have decided to do it again,” confirmed Russell.
“Everyone is affected by it, and we are just trying to publicise it, and raise funds in this great way.”
Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition – to stop prostate cancer damaging the lives of men and their families, with the disease being the most common cancer in men. Statistics show that 1 in all 8 men are diagnosed in their lifetime, or even more alarmingly, 1 in 4 black men.
Russell and Josh have both set themselves a fundraising target of £300, and any United fans wishing to support them in their efforts, can do so by donating via their JustGiving page here:
