TV presenter Dermot Murnaghan has tragically died aged 68 following a battle with stage four prostate cancer 
On Saturday July 11, it was announced that the former BBC, ITV and Sky News journalist had passed away.
In a statement, his family said he died at his north London home following a period of illness. “He died peacefully with his family at his side,” they added.
He revealed last year that he had been diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer, encouraging men to get tested after receiving his own diagnosis.
At the time Dermot said: “Needless to say my message to all men over 50, in high risk groups, or displaying symptoms, is get yourself tested and campaign for routine prostate screening by the NHS.
“Early detection is crucial. And be aware, this disease can sometimes progress rapidly without obvious symptoms.”
