19 Jun Next supporters’ meeting 23rd June Livermead House Hotel
Good morning all,
A calling note for our next TPSA meeting, which to remind you is being held on Tuesday 23rd June at the Livermead House Hotel at 10 o’clock for a 10.30 start. We are extremely lucky to be welcoming both Allie Poyner and Julie Eason from the Lodge cancer support unit in Torquay who will be leading us through a mindfulness and wellbeing session.
Allie will give a short presentation introducing mindfulness, encouraging curiosity around the practice, and facilitating some grounding exercises, including the 5-4-3-2-1 sensory technique using sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste. Allie will then lead a brief guided imagery exercise, which people often find both relaxing and enjoyable. Julie will be focusing on the benefits of wellbeing following treatment and surgery, with the aim of providing attendees with additional support, information, and practical strategies to aid recovery and emotional wellbeing.
We are extremely lucky to have Allie and Julie taking time to speak to us. I hope that you will agree that the meeting will provide a valuable and supportive time for all those attending, including our partners.
I hope that many of you will be able to make it on TUESDAY 23 June. Do not forget to register yourselves and car registrations to our welcoming trustees when you arrive for the meeting.
