12 Apr Presentation by Dr Anna Lydon
At the April members meeting we were delighted to have a talk by Dr Anna Lydon who has been the Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Torbay Hospital since 1999. Most of her time is spent looking after men diagnosed with prostate cancer
In agreeing to speak to us she said “Over those years I have been privileged to be involved with the TPSA since its foundation, and have seen first-hand the huge patient benefits it has been responsible for I am delighted to be asked to speak”.
She outlined the pioneering work that she & her colleagues have been involved in over the years in Torbay & Exeter Hospitals and thanked TPSA for their donation of equipment over the years which runs into £1000’s of pounds, without which this work would not have been possible.
She reflected on how prostate cancer treatments have evolved during her time at Torbay Hospital, and wanted to hear members’ thoughts on how the service could evolve going forward.Although she is retiring at the end of April, we were delighted to learn that she will continue working heading up a research team looking at future trials in treating cancers including Prostate Cancer.
