This is the service we spoke about at our last meeting. I don’t know the funding/partnership arrangements, but I would think that anything that speeds up diagnosis thereby speeding up treatments has to be a good thing. A welcome addition in Torbay. Easier access via public transport is a bonus

TORBAY & SOUTH DEVON NHS FOUNDATION TRUST

You might have noticed something happening in the old Blockbuster shop in Market Street, Torquay this summer. We’re excited to announce it’s home to our new community diagnostic centre, and it opened today.

You can visit the Torbay and South Devon Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) – as well as our other hospitals and sites – if you need scans or tests. MRI, CT and x-rays will be available from November.

The service is provided by InHealth Group and will help thousands of people receive a faster diagnosis and treatment for conditions including cancer, and heart and lung disease.

It’s all part of our promise to provide care closer to home. Thanks to everyone who’s been involved with this exciting project.
