February 28th – Prostate Cancer Awareness Talk to the Rotary Club of Newton Abbot.

Following on from a conversation with Rotarian Martin Smith at our last Prostate Health Awareness PSA testing event at the Livermead House Hotel in November, I was invited to make an after dinner presentation to members.

Over 30 people attended the presentation on February 28th at the Dainton Park Golf Club. I explained that it might not be the most entertaining and exciting after dinner event they had attended, but maybe could just be one of the most valuable.  The presentation covered a wide range of topics:-

  • Know your prostate and what it does
  • What can go wrong
  • The benefits of Early Diagnosis on treatment options
  • An overview of possible treatments
  • What support TPSA can offer to Men and their families.

The formal presentation was followed by a very lively question and answer session.

On 30th March the Newton Abbot club has partnered with the Rotary Club of Dartmoor Vale, to conduct a PSA Testing event, with TPSA providing an awareness presence.

At the time of writing, places for this event had almost all been taken, however TPSA are running an event on 3rd May once again at the Livermead House Hotel.  Details can be found on www.mypsatests.org.uk and places will be opened from 1st April.

If your organisation would like a presentation from TPSA please contact Ian Nightingale [email protected]
