Below are two videos about preparing for Robotic Prostatectomy
You will as part of your decision making process have spoken to the clinicians at Torbay Hospital and will have received copious leaflets explaining things. However like most people only a small part of it will have been initially digested.
In the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation trust, prostatectomies are carried out in Exeter, and as there are no videos currently available from the trust, we have used those available from outside the trust. In order to help take away the mystique around what will happen we have posted two videos below generated by University Hospitals Leicester NHS Trust.
The first video is from the Prostaid.co.uk website featuring a presentation from the surgeon Mr Paul Butterworth, Consultant Urologist , MD, FRCS (Urol) and the patient Michael Newell’s experience before, during and after the procedure that took place at Dept of Urology Leicester General Hospital, University Hospitals Leicester.
The second video features the surgeon Mr John Beatty, Consultant Urological Surgeon at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust discussing the actual surgical equipment and procedure.
